Our days ...

.. are so full. I'd like to start keeping a record of what we do ... if not daily, then weekly, at least.

Today, for example:

-- We read about Joseph and his coat of many colors. While talking about his dreams (of his brothers' and parents' wheat sheaves bowing down to his), we defined "sheaves" and talked about wheat and harvest.
-- We looked at pics of sheaves online and talked about wheatberries and grinding them in to flour and making flour for cookies and bread.
-- We listened to "America, the Beautiful" (several renditions) and discussed the author Katherine Bates and what she saw as she stood on the mountain -- "amber waves of grain" and "purple mountains." The kids are learning this for our Homeschool Thanksgiving Program.
-- The kids wrote their names a few times and "God made the sun" (since our "official" unit is on the sun) for handwriting practice.

We're also headed to the library and bank and post office today.


LATER ...

SO, after our errands, we took our lunch (crackers, deli meat and pickles) ** GRIN ** and Sonic drinks to the park and spread out our blanket under a huge shade tree. We ate and read the "new" library books. The baby pushed the stroller around and picked up leaves and crawled all over us.

We read a section about planet Earth and the kids and I pretended to be the sun and moon and Earth (rotating and spinning around each other).
They learned "orbit" and "gravity" and "eclipse" all while giggling out in the fresh, fall air!

THEN, we played on the equipment, made some new friends and had great fun!

A WONDERFUL day!

Tonight, I think we're going to the local football game. It'll be their first!
